Lingual Braces for Teens

Lingual braces are a great way for teens to straighten their teeth. Often, our orthodontist will recommend this treatment to patients who would like to avoid a “metal mouth” full of braces but have more serious orthodontic issues. Other discreet orthodontic treatments, like clear aligners, cannot always fix all orthodontic problems. Find out the benefits of lingual braces and meet with Orthodontic Associates of Port Huron today!

This orthodontic treatment is designed to work like traditional braces. It uses orthodontic brackets and wires to gradually move the teeth into position. However, instead of being attached to the front of the teeth, they are attached to the back, facing the tongue and inside of the mouth. This means that the brackets and wires do not show when a patient smiles, eats or speaks. This helps patients, especially teens, feel more confident throughout treatment.

Plan an appointment for lingual braces in Port Huron, Michigan, by calling 810-985-9567 today. During their visit with us, Dr. George M. Ash will take an impression of your teen’s teeth. This will be used to make custom brackets that will fit on top of the teeth. Usually, treatments will take anywhere from 18 to 36 months. Our orthodontist can give you an estimate of your child’s treatment time during your consultation.
